What is the Leadership and Peace Summit Morocco?

It is a three-day international summit under the theme “Empowering Leadership, Advancing Peace, and Strengthening Global Cooperation.” Delegates take part in sessions on peacebuilding, diplomacy, conflict resolution, international relations, cultural diversity, youth leadership, and the Sustainable Development Goals.

For many readers in Africa, this is a chance to attend an international summit on the continent, close to home, with a much shorter and cheaper trip than Europe or Asia.

What the fully funded seats cover

  • Return airfare, paid back to you as a reimbursement
  • A 100% waiver of the conference fee
  • Accommodation for the whole program (twin sharing)
  • Two meals a day
  • A conference kit and a certificate of participation
  • Awards, a cultural exchange program, and a celebration party

Airfare works as a reimbursement, which means you buy your ticket first and the organisers pay you back. Plan for that when you budget.

The other places

Alongside the 10 fully funded seats, the summit offers partially funded places, self-funded places, and free access passes. If you are not picked for a fully funded seat, one of these may still get you into the room. Check what each category includes on the official registration page.

Who can apply

  • University students
  • Young professionals and emerging leaders
  • Youth activists, changemakers, and peace advocates
  • Community leaders and anyone working toward social change
  • People interested in diplomacy and international cooperation

Is there an age limit?

No age limit is listed. The summit is aimed at young people, students, and early-career leaders, so if that describes you, you fit.

Do I need IELTS or TOEFL?

No test is listed. Sessions run in English, so you should be able to follow and take part in English.

Can I apply with average grades?

Yes. This is not a grades contest. What counts is your interest in leadership and peace, and what you are already doing in your community.

Is there an application fee?

Yes. Applying costs $23, paid through the official registration page on Eventbrite.

How to write your application

Show the work you already do. A youth club you lead, a peace project in your area, a debate society, volunteering. Say what you want to take back home from the summit. Ten fully funded seats is a small number, so a clear, honest, specific answer gives you the best chance.
