What is the Youth Diplomacy Convention 2027?

It is a four-day conference in Brussels, one of the main centres of European and world diplomacy. Over the four days you take part in workshops, youth panels, discussions, networking sessions, and cultural activities on topics like international relations, peacebuilding, sustainability, and youth voice in global decisions.

OGPS is the organisation behind it. The convention runs at the Holiday Inn Brussels Airport from 22 to 25 March 2027.

The scholarship seats, and what each covers

There are 100 scholarship seats, split into three levels. Here is what each one covers.

  • Fully Funded (25 seats): return airfare support, premium hotel accommodation, daily breakfast, meals on program days, visa documentation, a guided city tour, the sessions, and a certificate.
  • Partially Funded (25 seats): hotel accommodation, daily breakfast, and meals on program days. Airfare is not included.
  • Convention Access (50 seats): meals on program days, a guided city tour, the sessions, and visa documentation. Hotel and breakfast are not included.

So the fully funded seat is the one that covers your flight and hotel. The other two cover less, and you pay for what they leave out.

The fee, and the self-funded options

Each scholarship application has a £11.99 confirmation and processing fee. That is the cost to apply for a scholarship seat.

If you would rather not wait on the scholarship decision, OGPS also sells paid places: a Complete Package with accommodation at about £499 plus tax, and a Convention Access Pass without accommodation at about £299 plus tax. A visa invitation letter is listed separately at around £60 to £70. The page shows slightly different figures in places, so confirm the exact amount on the official site before you pay anything.

Who can apply

  • You are between 17 and 47 years old.
  • You can be from any country. There are no regional limits.
  • You can come from any academic, professional, or educational background.
  • You can communicate in basic English. No IELTS or other certificate is required.
  • No prior international or leadership experience is needed.

Is there an age limit?

Yes. You need to be between 17 and 47 years old to apply. That is a wide range, so most working-age applicants qualify.

Do I need IELTS or TOEFL?

No. You only need to be able to take part in English. There is no language test to submit.

Can I apply with average grades?

Yes. Selection is merit-based but open to any background, and it is not a grades contest. A clear, honest application about why you want to take part carries the weight here.

Required documents

  • Your completed online application
  • Basic personal and contact details
  • A short statement or the questions the form asks
  • A valid passport for the visa documentation step

Confirm the exact list on the official page, since the organisers can change it.

How to write your application

Say clearly why you want to be part of a diplomacy convention and what you would bring to the room. Name the issues you care about, peace, climate, youth voice, and one thing you want to learn or do after. Keep it honest and specific. A real reason beats a polished but empty answer.

How to apply, step by step

  1. Open the official OGPS page for the Youth Diplomacy Convention 2027.
  2. Read the three scholarship levels and decide which you are applying for.
  3. Fill in the online application form with your details.
  4. Write your short statement or answer the questions asked.
  5. Pay the £11.99 confirmation and processing fee for the scholarship application.
  6. Submit and keep your confirmation.

Selection process

OGPS reviews applications on merit and offers the scholarship seats across the three levels. Because only 25 of the 100 seats are fully funded, apply early and make your application clear. You will be told which level you are offered.

Deadline

31 December 2026.

The convention runs from 22 to 25 March 2027 in Brussels. The official page shows a countdown rather than a fixed date in some places, so confirm the exact deadline on the OGPS site before you apply.
