Open Doors Russian Scholarship 2026/27 (Fully Funded Tuition + Stipend)

Russia runs one of the largest fully funded study routes for international students, and the Open Doors competition is the way in. Win it and your tuition is covered, plus a monthly stipend, for a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD.

About the scholarship

Open Doors is run by the Association of Global Universities in Russia. Winners get a place at a Russian university without entrance exams and study tuition-free. It runs as an online competition, so you apply and compete from home before you ever travel.

What the award covers

• Full tuition, paid by the Russian government
• A monthly stipend

What it does not cover

Be clear on this before you apply. The award does not cover:

• Accommodation, though university dorms are low cost
• Medical insurance
• Travel, food, and daily living costs

Who can apply

• International citizens, not citizens of Russia
• Anyone applying for a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD, from over 200 countries
• The Postdoctoral track requires an existing PhD, Candidate of Science, or Doctor of Science

How to apply

1. Register at the official Open Doors portal.
2. Complete your profile and upload your education documents and a motivation letter.
3. Take the online entrance test in the first stage.
4. Pass the stages to be named a winner.
