What is the Finnish Dinner Date?
It is a campaign by Visit Finland, the national tourism body, part of Business Finland. It invites singles from around the world to Finland for four days of Finnish food, activities and culture. Each trip ends with a group dinner built on one of Finland’s official tasting menus, where eight visitors meet two local Finnish singles.
There are two experiences. One is in the Helsinki region and one is in Lakeland, around Tampere. Both take place between 9 and 19 February 2027. The region you get is revealed only if you are chosen.
What you get
- Travel to Finland from an international airport near your hometown
- Your own private room for at least four days
- Meals throughout the stay
- A hosted programme of activities and dining
- The group dinner date in Helsinki or Tampere
What is not covered
- Your visa and travel documents, which you arrange yourself
- Travel and health insurance
- Any fee or payment beyond travel, meals and accommodation
Who can apply
- Aged 18 or older
- Single at the time you apply and at the time of the trip
- Not living in Finland
- Able to post a video on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube (people in countries where these apps are blocked cannot take part)
- Able to travel between 9 and 19 February 2027
Do I need a visa for Finland?
Finland is in the Schengen area. Many travellers from Africa and Asia need a Schengen visa, and Visit Finland does not cover it. Check the visa rules for your passport early, because a February trip means applying for the visa soon after the 1 December announcement.
Is there an application fee?
No fee is mentioned to apply.
How to make your video
Your video must answer this question in English: what would you serve on a dinner date, and why?
- Keep it personal. A dish from your home, and the story behind it, is easy to remember.
- Speak clearly and keep it short.
- Show a bit of who you are, not just the food.
How to apply, step by step
- Record your video answering the question in English.
- Post it on Instagram or TikTok with a public profile, or on YouTube as Public or Unlisted.
- Use #FinnishDinnerDate and tag Visit Finland: @ourfinland on Instagram, @visitfinland.com on TikTok, @VisitFinland on YouTube.
- Fill in the application form on the Visit Finland website and paste your video link.
- Submit before 10 November 2026, 11:59 AM Finnish time.
Selection process
Visit Finland contacts the chosen participants personally. The public announcement is on 1 December 2026 on Visit Finland’s Instagram and TikTok.
