It is a four-day international summit for young people who care about the UN Sustainable Development Goals, peace, diplomacy, and youth-led development. This is the second edition. The first one was held in Porto, Portugal, in September 2026, and CGAD also ran a Youth Forum on UN Global Goals in Istanbul in April 2026.
The 2027 theme is Sustainable Development, Peace and Global Cooperation. Over four days you join talks with ambassadors and officials, a workshop on mediation, group sessions, and one institutional visit to UNESCO, the OECD, or Versailles. On the last day, the delegates write, debate, and sign the Paris Youth Declaration 2027. Every confirmed delegate signs it by name.
The working language is English.
There are three scholarship types. All three are awarded on merit, not first come, first served.
Fully Funded Scholarship
Partially Funded Scholarship
The same as above, with your accommodation covered, but you arrange your own flight.
Funded Forum Access
The full programme, meals, and visa invitation letter, but you arrange your own flight and your own accommodation.
If you would rather skip the selection process, CGAD also sells paid places: a Self-Funded Delegate package at US$749 with accommodation, and a Forum Access Pass at US$349 without it.
Selection looks at your motivation, your leadership potential, and your commitment. Not your certificates.
Yes. The scholarship application has a confirmation and processing fee of US$16.99. You pay it by card or PayPal as part of the online form. It is not refundable, and paying it does not guarantee you a place.
No. You do not need any English test or language certificate. The summit runs in English, so you should be comfortable following talks and joining discussions in English.
It gives airfare support. The exact amount is written in your award letter when you are selected. Read that letter carefully so you know what part of the ticket, if any, you still need to cover.
Every scholarship includes a stamped visa invitation letter from CGAD. You still apply for your Schengen visa yourself at the French embassy or visa centre in your country, and the embassy makes the final decision. Apply as early as you can once you are selected, because visa appointments in many African countries fill up weeks ahead.
Yes. The summit is built for a wide range of people, including students who are just starting out. A small initiative in your school, church, or community counts. What matters is that you can explain the problem you care about and what you plan to do next.
The form asks two questions. First, what challenge or topic you focus on most, and why this summit is the right place for you now. Second, your impact or initiative, the next step you will take after the summit, and the result you are aiming for.
Be specific. Name the problem, the place, and the people. “I run a weekend reading club for 30 girls in my town” says far more than “I am passionate about education.” Then give one clear next step you will take after Paris. Keep each answer under 250 words and read it out loud before you submit.
27 January 2027.
That leaves time, but do not wait for the last week. If you are selected, you still need a Schengen visa before 25 March, and that process can take a month or more. Confirm the date on the official page before you apply.
