The Green Climate Fund IT Internship 2026 is fully funded. It pays US$1,600 a month for six months, plus your return flights and free global health insurance. You work inside the GCF IT department at its head office in Songdo, South Korea.

It suits master’s students and recent master’s graduates in IT, computer science, software engineering, information systems, or project management who want serious, UN-linked work experience.

What is the Green Climate Fund internship?

The Green Climate Fund is the world’s largest climate fund. It sits under the UN climate convention and backs climate projects across developing countries. Its head office is in Songdo, South Korea.

This internship puts you in the IT department, called DIT. You help with IT projects, digital tools, and new AI tools, and you see how a large international organization runs its technology. It is a working role, not a shadowing one.

What the funding covers

This is a well-funded internship. On top of the US$1,600 monthly allowance, the GCF internship programme gives international interns their return flights to Korea and free global health insurance. Your travel and your health cover are handled.

What is not covered is the rest: your visa costs and your daily spending beyond the allowance. Budget for those and you are set.

Who can apply

• You are enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a master’s in business administration, project management, information systems, computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• You are interested in project coordination, technology, and digital change
• You are comfortable with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools
• You have some interest or practice with AI productivity tools
• You are fluent in English

What you will actually do

• Look at business needs and spot where technology can help
• Support IT projects: planning, tracking, and flagging risks
• Use AI and digital tools for research, reporting, and dashboards
• Sit close to enterprise systems, digital change work, and new AI projects

Do I need IELTS or TOEFL?

No test is named. What they want is strong, working English, since you will write reports, run documentation, and follow up with people across teams. Knowing another UN language is a plus, not a must.

I have already finished my master’s. Can I still apply?

Yes. The role is open to recent master’s graduates, not only current students. If you finished not long ago and the field fits, you qualify.
