MESPOM has trained environmental professionals since 2005. You spend your first autumn and winter at Central European University in Vienna, your spring on the Greek island of Lesvos with the University of the Aegean, and your summer on an internship. In year two you study at Lund University in Sweden or the University of Manchester in the UK, then write your thesis at any partner.
The Manchester track needs a separate UK visa, which adds about 3,000 euros in visa and health insurance costs. Many MESPOM students also combine this aid with outside scholarships such as Commonwealth, Chevening, or the Aga Khan Foundation.
Yes. Applications must be complete with a valid English test score, such as TOEFL or IELTS, by the deadline.
MESPOM asks for a good first degree, around a 3.5 GPA or the equivalent. If your grades are strong, apply for financial aid. If you need full funding, look at the fully funded Erasmus Mundus scholarships we post as well.
Explain the environmental problem you want to work on and why MESPOM’s mix of policy, management, and science fits. If you apply to both tracks, say clearly which one you prefer and why.
Formal review results appear from 4 February 2027. The MESPOM Academic Board then makes final decisions, published from 4 April 2027. Interviews are held only when reviewers need more information.
7 January 2027, 23:59 CET, to be considered for financial aid.
Self-financing applicants from outside the EU have until 15 April 2027. Confirm the dates on the official MESPOM page before you submit.
