What is the International Dialogue on SDG 17?

The forum is organised by Voice for Rights International (VFRI), an organisation based in Canada that trains young people in diplomacy through diplomatic simulations. This edition brings young leaders, students, professionals and changemakers to Baku for four days.

You take part in dialogues, leadership sessions, panel discussions and workshops on international cooperation and youth-led partnerships. There is time for networking, a cultural programme and a closing celebration. Delegates who stand out can win awards for their performance and engagement.

What you get

Fully funded delegates receive:

  • Round-trip airfare compensation
  • A 100% waiver of the conference fee
  • Accommodation for the whole programme, on a twin-sharing basis
  • Two meals a day during the official programme
  • An official conference kit and a certificate of participation
  • Cultural exchange activities and a networking party

There are 100 seats in total: 10 fully funded, 40 partially funded and 50 self-funded. The official page does not list what partially funded delegates receive. You can ask the organisers at info@vfri.ca.

Who can apply

  • Applicants from all countries
  • Students, young leaders, young professionals, entrepreneurs and civil society members
  • Anyone with an interest in partnerships, sustainability and international cooperation

The official page does not set an age limit. The forum is aimed at young leaders and emerging changemakers.

Do I need IELTS or TOEFL?

No. A language test is not listed as a requirement.

Is there an application fee?

The registration page lists a ticket at US$29.97. Fully funded delegates get a full waiver of the conference fee.

Do I need experience?

No minimum experience is listed. Students are welcome, and you do not need to have attended a forum before.

Required documents

The official page does not publish a document list. You apply through a short online form. Keep your passport details at hand, since delegates travel internationally, and prepare a few clear lines on why you want to attend.

How to write your application

Funded seats go to applicants who show what they will bring to the room and what they will take home.

  • Name one real partnership you have been part of or want to build: a student club working with a local NGO, a community project, a business idea.
  • Connect it to SDG 17. Say who needs to work together, and why it matters where you live.
  • Say what you plan to do with what you learn in Baku once you are home.
  • Keep it short and specific. A single real example beats a page of general statements.
