What is the New Generation Leaders Summit?

The summit brings together young people who are already making a difference in their communities. Its theme for 2027 is “Reimagining Leadership for a Sustainable Future”. The first edition took place in Dubai in January 2025.

Over three days you hear keynotes and panels, join workshops on public speaking, project design, fundraising and personal branding, and work in a small international team on a challenge linked to one of the Sustainable Development Goals. There is a cultural evening, an evening on the Chao Phraya river and a Bangkok tour. The summit ends with the Bangkok Youth Declaration and a certificate of participation.

What you get

There are three types of place.

  • Fully funded: round-trip airfare support, shared 4-star accommodation, visa support and an official invitation letter, visa fee reimbursement, summit meals, a delegate kit, the Bangkok tour and a certificate
  • Partially funded: shared 4-star accommodation and the full summit programme, without the flight
  • Self-funded: a USD 500 conference fee, paid once a place is offered, which covers hotel nights, meals, airport transfers, the programme and the invitation letter, but not flights or visa fees

There are 40 funded places, fully or partially funded, and 100 self-funded places. Every delegate gets the same programme in Bangkok.

Who can apply

  • Aged 18 to 40
  • From any country
  • Already taking initiative in your community, organisation, business or studies
  • Interested in acting on at least one Sustainable Development Goal
  • Comfortable with discussions and group work in English
  • A passport valid until at least August 2027, or able to get one
  • Able to attend all three days

Is there an application fee?

Yes. Every applicant pays a USD 17 application fee. It is not refundable, even if you are not selected, unless the organisers cancel the summit before decisions are announced. Self-funded delegates also pay the USD 500 conference fee if they accept a place.

Do I need a title or a big job?

No. The organisers say you don’t need a title, you need a track record of taking initiative. Students, young professionals, social entrepreneurs, activists, NGO staff and public servants are all welcome. Financial need is considered for funded places.

How applications are judged

  • Leadership and impact: what you have done, at any scale, and what changed
  • Motivation: why this summit, why now, and what you’ll bring
  • Your link to the Sustainable Development Goals
  • Your plan to share what you learn when you go home
  • A balanced group by region, gender and background

How to write a strong application

  • Pick one project you have led and describe it with real results.
  • Name the SDG your work connects to and explain how.
  • Give a clear plan for sharing what you learn, such as a workshop at your school or in your community.
  • If you need funding, say so plainly. Financial need is part of the decision.
