What is the Middle East Youth Summit?

MEYS is an international youth summit now in its seventh edition. It brings Muslim young people together in Mecca to share ideas, build leadership skills, and form connections across countries.

It is run by Youth Break the Boundaries, a private youth organization, not a government or a university. Over four days you take part in sessions and activities, and participants can also perform Umrah.

What you get

  • Financial coverage for selected participants, on a reimbursement system
  • Accommodation during the summit
  • Awards, a seminar kit and merchandise
  • Airport pickup
  • The chance to perform Umrah

Understand the reimbursement system before you commit. It means you may pay some costs first and be paid back, rather than everything being paid for you up front. Check exactly what your category covers on the official page.

Who can apply

  • Muslim young people from around the world.
  • Students and young changemakers interested in leadership and global connection.
  • You are able to travel to Saudi Arabia and get a visa if selected.

Do I need IELTS or TOEFL?

No. There is no English test. The summit runs in English, so you take part in English, but you do not send a score.

What is the application fee?

There is an application fee: US$10 for the funded category and US$15 for the self-funded category. Pay it only once you are sure you want to apply, and keep your payment record.

How to apply, step by step

  1. Open the official MEYS page (link at the end of this post).
  2. Read the categories and the reimbursement terms.
  3. Fill in the application with your details and your reason for attending.
  4. Pay the application fee for your category and submit before the deadline.

Selection process

The organizers review applications and select participants for the funded and self-funded categories. A clear, specific reason for wanting to attend helps your application.

Deadline

10 November 2026. The summit runs 22 to 25 March 2027 in Mecca. You have a few weeks, so prepare a strong application and confirm the reimbursement terms before you pay.
