The Harvard Environmental Fellows Program 2027 is fully funded. It pays 92,000 dollars a year for two years, plus health insurance, a relocation grant, and a yearly research budget, to do independent environmental research at Harvard.
It is a postdoctoral fellowship, for people who already hold a PhD or are about to finish one.

What is the Environmental Fellows Program?
It is a two-year research fellowship run by the Harvard University Center for the Environment. It lets people who just finished a doctorate spend two years at Harvard working on a big environmental question, with a Harvard professor as a host. You get the time, the money, and the Harvard network to build serious research.

Who can apply
- You must hold a doctorate or a similar terminal degree, awarded between May 2023 and August 2027. So recent PhDs, and people finishing soon, both fit.
- Your research must connect to the environment, from any field: science, policy, law, health, design, business, or the humanities.
- You need a Harvard faculty member willing to host you and write a short letter of support.
- You should be planning research that is new, not a repeat of your PhD.
Do I need to already be at Harvard?
No. You apply from anywhere in the world. Current Harvard postdocs can apply too, as long as the new research is a real change of direction.
Can students apply?

- Your CV.
- A research proposal for the two years.
- A letter of support from a Harvard faculty host (two pages maximum).
- References, as the application asks.

- Find and contact a Harvard faculty member who can host your research and write your support letter. Start this early, it takes time.
- Prepare your CV and a clear research proposal.
