About the event
The UN Youth Townhall gathers young leaders from around the world to shape the decisions that affect them. Sessions run over three days in Heidelberg, with preparatory meetings before the event. The goal is to bring young people who are usually left out of international decision-making into the room.
What the sponsorship covers
- Roundtrip airfare from your country to Heidelberg
- Airport transfers at fixed UN rates
- A daily allowance (stipend) at fixed UN rates
- Visa fee reimbursement after your trip, with a receipt
- A visa invitation letter for your application
- Accommodations for participants with disabilities
- Preparatory materials and training
What it does not cover
- Upfront visa application costs, these are reimbursed later
- Health insurance
- Personal travel changes or side trips
Who can apply
- Aged 18 to 35 at the time of the event
- Engaged in youth-led work at any level, from grassroots to global
- Comfortable working in English
- Available for all event days and the preparatory meetings
